The Reality in Cameroon

Cameroon faces a learning crisis with an estimated 1.5 million children in need of emergency educational support (UNICEF, 2025).

  • 72% can’t read by age 10 (UNESCO, 2024)
  • 1:40+ teacher to student ratio (UIS, 2024)
  • 9 in 10 children with disabilities out of school (UIS, 2022)

From overcrowded and under-resourced classrooms, little to none Special Educational Needs support and disrupted school due to socio-political instability- the children of Cameroon are in desperate need of an education that works for them.

Meet Uginia Urwick,

"I had no resources, no support, but I just couldn't say no"

Uginia is the Director of I-SENTTI, an inclusive education teacher training academy she founded in Cameroon 23 years ago. Uginia started I-SENTTI after witnessing first hand the exclusion and mistreatment children with disabilities and Special Educational Needs faced both in the classroom and the community.

She started her journey with nothing but determination, renting out a church to host free classes about disability inclusion for teachers and the community. I-SENTTI now has two teaching training academies and has trained teachers in over 60+ schools on how to give a fairer, safer and brighter future to children of all learning needs.

Despite the incredible progress Uginia and her I-SENTTI team have made, she continues to fight for a better solution for all children in Cameroon who still face huge barriers to learning.

I-SENTTI Inclusive Intelligence Project

The EduAgentic and I-SENTTI partnership

We are partnering with I-SENTTI to deliver personalised learning to as many learners as we can. Eventually, all 40+ students in each classroom will listen to the same teacher, in the same classroom but each receive personalised explanations, activities and gamified learning based of their exact academic needs and ability.

This project will also be a huge breakthrough for children with special educational needs. Not only will our platform adapt to their exact needs, it will also alert the teachers of any suspected diagnoses.

We cannot wait to work with Uginia and the I-SENTTI team to begin delivering personalised education unique to every child and their needs- the start of a journey to a much brighter future for the learners of Cameroon.
